Petaluma Mental Health with Adolescents and Children
Child and Adolescent Treatments:
- Parental Support with Troubled Child
- Withdraw and Isolation from Friends and or Family
- Unrealized Talent or Giftedness
- Cutting and or Self-Harm
- Divorce or Mixed Homes
- Attachment Difficulties
- Foster and or Adoption
- Bullying (Cyber and or Physical)
- Attention and Focus
- Cross Cultural Considerations
I address bullying, cyberbullying, social isolation, cutting, suicidality, and other emotional challenges which can involve focusing on the developmental needs, attachment difficulties, and necessary social skills the child needs to thrive.
I am comfortable with children or adolescents who are facing emotional difficulties related to home, school, friends, and social settings. A child going through a difficult family situation (which can include divorce, addiction, and or death) needs special care and attention.
Petaluma Child and Adolescent Therapy Experience
In 2015 I was the clinical director for "A Home Within" in San Francisco, a service which provides counseling to children of foster families focusing on attachment difficulties, development, and trauma.
With respect to adolescents, I continue to have ongoing consultation in a professional consultation group that focuses on adolescents and have been a member since 2011.
I had a post-graduate internship at Mcauley Psychiatric at St. Marys in 2014 which is an inpatient hospital for adolescents who have been or are dangers to the themselves (cutting, suicidal gestures or attempts) and also to others such as violence.
